"Valaam Monastery"
One's heart cannot help but be filled warmth and remembrance of what was once in existence; a place that is hardly to be found in our time.  To view the original place of St. Herman of Alaska, Elder Nazarius, Elder Hilarion, Abbot Damascene, Schemamonk Michael (seen standing in front of his cell) and Schemamonk John (walking in procession outside and author of "Christ Is In Our Midst") to name a few.  This film is a heavenly treasure for those who love Valaam Monastery.  A one thousand year old Monastery founded by Sts. Sergius & Herman.  If you had a wish to go back in time and to witness orthodox monasticism and to view the everyday routine of saints lives - wish no longer...THIS FILM IS FOR YOU! Captured on film in 1938 before its destruction in 1942.  What a blessing!

Holy Land Pilgrimage - May 1990
"Outlying Regions and the Holy Sepulcher"
Our Pilgrimage begins on the coast at ancient Jaffa and continues up the coast, stopping first at Caesarea and then Haifa.  Next we turn inland for a visit to Cana before continuing on to the Sea of Galilee.  From here we visit the land where Jesus' ministry began including the Mt. of Beatitudes, Taghfa, Capernaum, and the Church of the Apostles at Peter's Landing.  After crossing the Sea of Galilee by boat, we visit the Monastery of the Transfiguration at Mt. Tabor, the Church of the Annunciation at Mary's Well in Nazareth, and join pilgrims from around the world to commemorate our Baptisms in the Jordan.  We make our way south to Jericho and the Monastery of the Prophet Elisha, before continuing on to Jerusalem.  Upon entering at the Jaffa gate, we follow the way Jesus carried the cross through the old city, going directly to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Holy Land Pilgrimage - 1990
"The Desert Monasteries"
Our first stop is at St. Sabbas Monastery; built on the walls of a deep canyon and continuously inhabited by monks since it's founding by St. Sabbas in the fifth Century.  We visit the church built in a cave in 483 A.D.  The main church and buildings date to 502 A.D., and include the cell of St. John Damascene.  From here we visit the nearby Monastery of St. Theodosius, founded approximately the same time as St. Sabbas.  Next we travel the ancient road from Jerusalem to the Wadi Kelt, and descending into the canyon, the Monastery of St. George the Hozabite.  Our last stop is in the wilderness of the Jordan near Jericho, at the Monastery of St. Gerasimos.  It was from here in that Holy Communion was carried some three miles to St. Mary of Egypt.
